Private Lessons – July 6-August 21

We will offer online private lessons throughout the summer.  We offer flexible lesson options during the summer.  Just let us know which weeks you will be here when you register so our faculty can plan accordingly.  You can register for lessons at any time.  Some of our faculty are away during the summer.  If you are a returning student and your teacher is away, we will place you with a different teacher for the summer session.

Classes

Solfege and Beginning Theory (Online)

This online class is great for beginners or for anyone looking to brush up on their musical foundations.  The first 20 minutes of this class will focus on training students to use solfege (do, re, mi…) and the last 10 minutes will be spent working on music theory.  Learning solfege helps reinforce reading music, improves the ability to sight-read music, and trains your ear to hear the music without having to play it.  These are all great skills for musicians at any skill level! For students ages 8+.  Additional classes may be added depending on enrollment.  7 weeks.

Cost: $80

Music & Movement, 4-6 Year Olds (Online)

Get your body moving! Come explore music with us through movement. We will sing, move, stretch, dance, play games and more! This is a great way to learn about music in a fun, engaging and interactive way. Come prepared to have some fun! This is a 4-week online class with a limit of 5 people per class. We will create additional classes if need be. We will send you a Zoom link after you have registered and paid. We hope to see you there!

Cost: $40

Music & Movement for All Abilities

Get your body moving! This movement class will be adapted to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities. Build confidence, body awareness, and self expression, through music! We will sing, move, stretch, dance, play games and more! This is a great way to learn about music in a fun, engaging and interactive way. Through music we will build confidence, body awareness, and self expression!

This is a 4-week online class with a limit of 5 people per class. We will create additional classes if need be. We will send you a Zoom link after you have registered and paid.

Cost: $40

Circle Time for Toddlers (0-5 Year Olds)

 Join us for our weekly online Circle Time class for Toddlers and Pre-schoolers. In this 30 minute class we will sing songs, explore music with hand movements, and make music with hand instruments (or whatever you have handy at home that makes noise!). Class is free, but registration is required so we can send out a Zoom link for the class.  Once registered, you do not need to register again as the Zoom link will remain the same for each week. Please have a small hand instrument or anything that makes noise on hand for the class each week.  We hope to see you in the class!

Cost: Free (financial contributions welcome)

Virtual General Music Theory

A weekly group class that will be accessible for anyone ages 10 and older. This class will be 30 minutes in length and will review and cover the fundamentals related to reading music and musicianship such as:

  1. Understanding and counting common note rhythms.
  2. Understanding basic Time Signatures.
  3. The staff, clefs and note reading.
  4. Understanding intervals melodic and harmonic, interval inversions
  5. Using intervals to build chords.
  6. Using intervals to understand Scales and Key Signatures.

This class is also a great opportunity for anyone looking to improve their understanding in counting, note reading and music in general. The class also serves as a great foundation for anyone looking to go to the next step in creating music as either a singer/song writer, making tracks, or just as a song writer/composer.  10 weeks.

Ear-Training Class

Want to improve your ear and your listening skills?  This class is for you! In this online class, we will focus on recognizing intervals, singing intervals and will work on rhythm and pitch dictations.  For ages 13-adults.  6 weeks. Space is limited.

Story Time at the Opera (for kids of all ages):

Fairy god mothers, gingerbread houses, flying serpents, oh my! Do you love story time?  If so, you will want to join us for this fun class!  Through kid-friendly operas like Hansel and Gretel, Cinderella, The Magic Flute, and more, you’ll get to learn some wonderful stories, as well as the wonderful music that accompanies them! There will be pictures, music and videos to supplement this musical story time. It is sure to be a magical one!

Cost: Pay what you can! (suggested fee: $10 per class, for a total of $40)

Opera in the Afternoon (for adults):

Do you love opera?  Or do you want to learn more about it?  Come join us as we learn about great operas, their composers, the periods in which they were written and last but not least, their wonderful music! This series will be jam packed with sound clips and videos. In the final class Rachel will bring the music to life in a sung Operatic concert.

Cost: $60

Musical Instrument Showcase

Want to learn more about the different musical instrument families?  Over the course of 5 weeks, you will learn about the different instrument families (woodwinds, brass, strings, percussion, voice).  Come join us as we discover the different musical instruments through pictures, videos and more!  We will offer 2 classes – one for ages 2-5, and one for ages 6-9.

Cost: Pay what you can! (suggested fee: $10 per class for a total of $50)

Masterclass Series #1 – Vocal Health Workshop

Calling all singers! In lessons we are always talking about proper singing technique, but there is so much more to keeping our instruments at optimum health! In this workshop we will discuss everything involved with maintaining a healthy voice: diet, exercise, environmental factors, proper rest, dealing with illness, and more!  Join us as we explore all that is involved with being a healthy singer!  This workshop is for middle school students through adults.  All skill levels welcome.

Masterclass Series #2 – Performance Techniques

Do you feel awkward on stage? Does your stage fright keep you from performing? Are you a musician or singer looking to get their performance skills to the next level? In this workshop, we will focus on different techniques that make up a performance: preparation, artistry, stage presence and conquering stage fright.  This workshop is geared for middle school students through adults.  All instruments/singers of all skill levels welcome.
