Mackenzie Lynne – Voice

Mackenzie Wells is a graduate of Western Michigan University where she received her Master’s in vocal performance under Rhea Olivaccé. She received her Bachelors in vocal performance from Kent State University studying under Tim Culver. She loves performing and helping students find their personal voice through lessons. She has experience teaching at a collegiate level for Western Michigan. She also taught students aged 13-19 and some adults at the Aurora School of Music in Aurora, Ohio.

Ms. Wells’ teaching philosophy follows a holistic approach; a singer’s instrument not only encompasses their voice but their body and mind as well. Each student has their own technical, musical, and personal goals so no two students can be taught the same way. However, important technical building blocks like breath, posture, ear training, and musicality are essential for any student. Her goal is to provide techniques and feedback so that students can effectively practice and navigate changes as their voice develops.

Performance credits include Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) and Mimi (La Boheme) with Western Michigan Opera and Ida (Die Fledermaus), Princess Ida (Princess Ida), and Gisela (Gisela in Her Bathtub) with Kent State Opera. She also participated in the opera chorus for the Cleveland Opera Theater. In addition, she premiered the role of Annabel in Mondo Novo and covered the Countess (Le nozze di Figaro) for the Vienna Summer Music Program.
